    What is impounded car insurance?

You are required, by law, to have a policy of at least 30 days in duration. You can’t buy a cheap short term policy of a few days or a week, it needs to be a minimum of 30 days. With temporary impounded car insurance, you get the 30 days cover you need to release your vehicle.

Without the right insurance, for example, one that doesn’t cover impounded or seized vehicles, you could end up forking out even more money to recover your car.

Cover is available in just a couple of minutes so you can get your car released as soon as possible.

Do I need specialist car insurance?

It’s more than likely that you will need a specialist impounded car insurance policy as many annual policies and even temporary insurance policies of less that 30 days won’t cover the release of impounded vehicles.

Because you are required to have a policy of at least 30 days in duration, you will need to ensure you have the right policy before buying. While annual insurance policies are longer than 30 days, many standard car insurance policies won’t cover impounded vehicles because of the increased risk.

Even temporary insurance policies of 1-28 days in duration won’t be right for you as they don’t give you cover for the right period of time.
